Salvadoran immigrants fret as future of special protection status in peril

On Nov. 3, the United States was set to begin removing protections from immigrants under the Temporary Protective Status program — removing deportation protections from nearly 300,000 Haitians and Central Americans. Nearly two thirds of these immigrants are Salvadoran. Here’s what Chicago’s doing about it.
