John Walt Foundation honors murdered rapper by investing in next generation of young Chicago artists

After her son, hip-hop artist John Walt, was murdered in 2017, Nachelle Pugh started a foundation to honor his memory and invest in the next generation of young Chicago artists. This fall, the John Walt Foundation awarded its first scholarships. One of the recipients was Ladasia Bryant, a 17-year-old art curator. With the help of the scholarship funding, Dasia hosted her first art showcase highlighting art by people of color.
