Robin Amer is the award-winning deputy editor of the Chicago Reader. Her investigative work has been honored by the Sidney Hillman Foundation, the Society for Professional Journalists, and the James Beard Foundation, among others. She’s also the creator of the podcast The City, which won WNYC’s 2015 Podcast Accelerator competition. Her work has been aired and published by Marketplace, WBEZ, WTTW, Detour, DNAinfo and other outlets. After graduating she worked as an investigative reporting fellow for Medill Watchdog, during which time that outlet published a year-long collaboration with The Chicago Tribune examining nationwide abuse of youth at troubled residential treatment centers. That series won a National Headliner Award & was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize.
