Angela Caputo covers housing and criminal justice issues for The Chicago Reporter, where she has worked since 2010. She’s a recipient of the Salute to Excellence Award from the National Association of Black Journalists, Sigma Delta Chi and Peter Lisagor awards for Best In-depth and Best Education reporting. Angela graduated from Columbia College Chicago in 2004 with a master’s degree in journalism. Before joining the Reporter, Angela worked at Progress Illinois, a political news blog, where she was a recipient of the Studs Terkel Award in 2010. She also previously worked for the Sun-Times News Group producing award-winning investigative pieces for the Daily Southtownand Lerner Newspapers.
